my mam

my mam [nancy]was the only girl out of 11 children born to alice[nee hall] + george armstrong.3 of the children died in infancy.
her mother was not a well person so nancy helped out from a young age.she left shool at christmas time as she would be 13 in january.by her birthday she had brought home 3 weeks pay.she worked hard all her life even to being "a pit brow lass" at one time.
she met + married my dad jimmy[james].he was know as zimmy to the grandchildren that couldn't say his name.my mam had 4 girls + then a boy.she worked again between her childre being born.my dad died in 1988 aged 63.mam loved her bingo + carried on with that ,also going to the local club were she went with my dad for many years.she loved sox her little dog but became to ill to look ater her + my sister-in-law took her.she carried on alone untill she died in june 2007.
she could be very demanding at times, wanting a job done right away or even yesterday.
i want to say im sorry mam for not being able to do as you asked at the end.i love you but i could not manage to do it.from vicky.xxx

Memories

Memories are heartbeats
sounding through the years
echoes never fading
of our smiles and our tears
moments that are captured
sometimes unaware
pictured in an album
or a lock of hair

Images that linger
deep within the mind
bit of verse we cherished
once upon a time
through the musty hallways
of the days we knew
ever comes the vision
beautiful and true

Memories are roses
blooming evermore
full of fragrant sweetness
never known before
life must have a meaning
goals for which to strive
memories are lights that burn
to keep the heart alive

God Bless xx

There's a precious choir of angels
With the lord in heavens sky
And a special song they're singing
Dear loved ones please don't cry
Remember all the good times
And the joy that was given to you
Dear loved ones please please don't cry
We're watching over you

Sending love to you and your Family x
